1. 888Sport – Bet £10 And Get £30 In Free Bets + £10 Casino Bonus

888sportdarts

The 888 brand is one of the biggest in the online gambling sector. Their size means that they can offer a wide range of features, quality mobile apps, competitive odds and deep markets. This makes them a safe pick for betting on most sports, including darts.

Their live section features streaming and/or a graphical display of what’s going on in the match, with plenty of stats. There’s also plenty of deals, including a generous welcome offer, acca promotions, enhanced odds and a free bet if you land a winner at 4/1 or greater. Overall, 888Sport are our pick of the recommended darts betting sites.

Two areas where BoyleSports excel are with acca offers and the quality of their mobile betting apps, both of which are extremely useful for darts bettors. Their live section is a pleasure to use and they can offer a much deeper range of live markets than is the case with most darts betting sites.

Pros:

betfred world champ offer

Known as ‘The Bonus King’, Betfred certainly have a wide range of offers for regular users, along with one of the most generous welcome deal available. If we had a criticism of their bonuses, it’s that they tend to be tied to a certain sport and can’t be used universally.

So, while you will find darts specific offers around the time of the World Championship, you might be out of luck at other times of the year. The website is not as pretty as others, but it has all the features you’d want as a live streaming and cash out betting site, while they also feature a deep range of darts markets, with strong prices.

Pros:

  • One of the best welcome deals around
  • Darts deals for big tournaments
  • Cash out on your bets

QuinnBet cover darts seriously, with a wide range of markets and competitive odds, both pre-match and in-play. One area where it could improve is to offer live streaming on darts and other sports, as it only covers horse racing at the moment.

Pros:

  • Odds competitive pre-match and in-play

When it comes to its bonus offers, 10Bet does not disappoint. Their VIP membership, known as The Ten Club, provides players with a world-class VIP experience. Ten Club members receive a dedicated account manager, customized offers, and round-the-clock access to a private WhatsApp service, with special discounts and perks. New players are not left out. Ranking the Best Online Darts Betting Sites

Having seen our lists and reviews of our best online darts betting sites, you may be wondering the criteria that we used to rank them. Here are the factors that we took into account.

  • Competitive Odds – When reviewing darts betting sites we look out for those that can offer competitive odds. We feel that all of our choices do well in this area. Odds comparison sites allow you to look at which bookies are offering the highest prices for different markets and you’ll see our recommended picks featuring prominently. Just as important as pre-match odds, is that bookies offer competitive odds for Darts betting in play.
  • Live Betting -Darts is a great sport for live betting. When it comes to the match result there’s generally only two outcomes and the game and therefore the markets, can quickly swing from one direction to the other. We like to see well laid out sections for live darts betting. Smaller tournaments, including non-PDC should be covered in-play, especially during midweek mornings and afternoons, when there’s relatively little live UK sport taking place. A Cash Out facility is a very useful feature that we like sportsbooks to have when offering in play darts betting
  • Mobile Friendly – With darts tournaments often being played throughout the day and late into the night, being able to place bets on your mobile is essential. With darts betting sites being optimised to work with mobile browsers, this is always an option, but we like sportsbooks to also offer dedicated apps for iOS and Android devices
  • Offers and Promotions – Darts betting sites can help you to get your new account off to a flying start with a generous welcome offer. We then expect them to give you a regular stream of betting promotions and bonuses. The offers don’t need to be specific to the sport, as long as they can be used for world darts betting. We do like to see some dedicated darts promotions that can be used for big events such as the Premier League and World Championship.
  • Range of Markets – Every bookmaker covering darts will feature the match result market, some over/unders markets and a few handicaps. The best darts betting sites will go more in-depth, with a large range of markets, including dozens of different over/under and handicap options. Darts is quite literally a numbers game, so there are lots of elements that darts bookmakers can create markets for, such as the number of 180s hits, average scores and many more.
  • Streaming – Lots of the big PDC tournaments are show on TV, but there are also lots of smaller ones, such as the Players Championship events, which can only be watched on the PDC website, or at darts betting sites. Non-PDC competitions like the Modus League are also somewhat reliant of bookmakers live streaming the events. Streaming is therefore an important aspect that must be present in at least one of your portfolio of darts bookies accounts.

Key Features All Leading Darts Bookmakers Have

You’ve now seen some of the criteria that we expect to see from the best online darts betting sites. The table below lists our recommended sites and shows which of the key features that they offer and the ones that they don’t.

Darts Betting Offers

We’ve talked about the fact that darts betting sites have regular betting offers and promotions that you can use when having a punt on the darts. In this section we’re going to go through some of the useful bonuses that are available from darts betting sites.

  • Acca Boosts – Accumulators are popular with darts fans, as you can have several games playing each day during a tournament. With an acca boost, you get an extra percentage added to your winnings. The more selections that you have in your acca, the bigger the percentage bonus.
  • Acca Clubs – This type of acca promotion sees you rewarded for the amount of accumulators you place. So if for example you place a certain amount of accas in a week, darts betting sites with give you a free bet to use on an acca.
  • Acca Insurance – There’s nothing more annoying when you place an accumulator bet than for just one selection to let you down. With acca insurance, you’ll get your stake back up to a certain amount, should only one leg let you down.
  • Cashback Deals – Some darts betting sites will give you cash back on any losses you make. Typically it will be a certain percentage of your losses, accrued over a week or month. Useful if your World Darts Championship campaign doesn’t go as planned.
  • Enhanced Odds – Bookies give out enhanced odds offers every day, normally centred on whatever is the biggest sporting event take place at the time. This means that when a big darts tournament is on, you can expect certain bets to be given enhanced odds.
  • Free Bets – Free bets are perhaps the most common type of bonus given out by bookies. They’re often given out as part of welcome deals, while they are also commonly used as a promotional tool for existing users. So if you place a certain amount of qualifying bets in a week, darts betting sites might give you a free bet.
  • Matched Deposits – This is the type of welcome deal that you most often see. Deposit a certain amount when you open an account and the bookie will 100% match it. Some bookmakers will also match future deposits by existing users, up to a certain percentage.
  • Money-Back Deals – Also known as a ‘no-lose bet’, this type of bonus will see you get your money back if your bet loses. It’s often given as a welcome deal. So for example, if you open an account, place a £20 bet and it loses, you’ll get that £20 stake back as a free bet.
  • No-Deposit Bonus – This is a fairly rare type of bonus. As the name suggests, you get given some kind of bonus, without having to make a deposit. This can can be given out to new users, or to existing ones.

New Darts Bookies

When it comes to darts betting sites UK punters are spoilt for choice. As well as the established names in the industry, there are always plenty of new companies coming through.

New darts betting sites keep the more established firms on their toes, by offering fresh competition and innovative features. Here are three of our favourite new darts betting sites, with some in-depth information about each of them, further below.

  1. LiveScore Bet – Bet £10 And Get £20 In Free Bets
  2. Rhino – Bet £20 And Get All Your Stake Returned
  3. Virgin Bet – Bet £10 And Get £20 In Free Bets

Effective Darts Betting Strategy

If you’re betting on the arrows regularly then you’ll need an effective darts betting strategy. Here’s some advice that will help and can also be applied to other sports.

Look to Trade, Not Win

A profitable bet is not one that necessarily has to win. If you see a price that is bigger than it really should be, then there could be an opportunity to trade yourself into a winning position, or cash out, if that feature is available. So for example, if Michael van Gerwen is a heavy favourite against Nathan Aspinall, but you think that the game will actually be close, there could be an opportunity to lock in some profit. You might not have bet on Aspinall pre-match, if you thought you’d have to let the bet play out, as ultimately MVG could win. Yet with the ability to utilise live darts betting, you can bet on Aspinall before the match and then back Van Gerwen at higher odds during the match, if things go as you predicted, or cash out.

Find Value

We’ve just identified how you can make money from identifying a value bet, that doesn’t necessarily have to win. A value bet is one where the odds are bigger than the actual percentage chance of it happening. So if you have reason to believe that the likelihood of something occurring is 50/50, which would mean that the true odds should be Evens (2.0), but the actual odds are 2/1 (3.0), then you have found a value bet. The more that you use darts betting sites and get used to thinking about odds, the more often that you will identify such opportunities. Doing plenty of research into the sport of darts and the players involved in games, will also help.

Follow Tipsters

Many of the best darts betting sites have content sections with tips for darts and other sports. Then there are lots of independent sites and social media accounts that offer tips. Follow tipsters and keep a record of how they’re doing. If they consistently post profits, then it’s a fair assumption that their tips are worth following. Furthermore, if the tips are being delivered within the form of an article, there will be some explanation as to why they’ve come to their decision, which can help inform your own decision making when betting on darts.

Darts Betting Odds & Markets

When looking for a new bookmaker, you’ll want one that offers darts betting odds that are at the very least, competitive. You’ll also want one that offers a wide range of markets on darts matches. Here are some of the most important darts betting markets that you should expect to see from top bookies:

  • Correct Score – In this market you have to predict the correct score. This could be in legs or sets, depending on the format of the match.
  • Handicap Betting – Odds at darts betting sites can be heavily skewed towards the favourite. To make predicting the result more difficult and therefore the odds more even, you give a player a handicap. So for example, in a best of 13 legs match, you could back the favourite with -2.5 legs, or -3.5 and so on, to get a bigger price for them.
  • Highest Checkout – There are markets in which you have to predict which of the two players will have the highest checkout. Then there are also markets where you have to state whether the highest checkout will be over or under a certain amount.
  • Match Treble – With this bet you are betting on a player to win the match, hit the most 180s and score the higher average.
  • Match Winner – Quite simply, you are betting on which of two players will win the match.
  • Most 180s – Which player will score the most 180s?
  • Nine Dart Finish – There is a market on whether a nine dart finish will occur in a match or not.
  • Outright Winner – It’s also possible to wager on which player will win the darts competition or tournament completely.
  • Player Average – You can bet on the average score of the two players in a match. The average is set at a certain score, such as 98.5 for example and you have to bet on whether the average of a player will be higher or lower.
  • Total 180s – There are also markets for the total number of 180s, both collectively and for either player.

In Play Darts Betting Sites

Darts really is a great sport for in-play betting. When it comes to the match result market, there’s only two possible outcomes and the prices can swing one way and then the other. A darts player can look to be a certainty to win a leg, but it only takes a couple of missed doubles to let the other player back in.

When looking for a bookie for betting on live darts, you want competitive odds, a well designed live section, streaming and a cash out facility. Any live betting sites that don’t offer all that aren’t worth your time.

Of all of our favourites darts betting sites, BoyleSports is our pick when the action is in-play. Their live section is beautifully designed and makes for a great betting experience, while they can also boast of a top quality mobile app.

Major Darts Betting Events

The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) is the major organisation in darts and has revolutionised the sport with an all-year calendar of regular events. Much like golf or tennis, the rankings of players are based on how much money they’ve won in tournaments over the last two years.

There are regular small tournaments which give darts bookies plenty of opportunity to cover the sport pre-match and in-play. Then there are the big darts competitions which are featured live on TV and have the most prize money available for players. Below we have a breakdown of the biggest darts events that take place each year.

PDC World Championship Darts Betting

The ultimate prize for any darts player to win is the PDC World Darts Championship. It starts in December each year in the weeks before Christmas and concludes in early January. The timing gives the tournament a festive atmosphere, with the event held at London’s Alexandra Palace. Phil Taylor has won the event more than any other player, with an incredible 14 wins. The trophy on offer is now known as the Sid Waddell Trophy, having been renamed in 2013, after the death of the legendary darts commentator.

Some 96 players take part, with the top 32 from the PDC Order of Merit, entering the tournament in the second round. It’s a straight knockout, but as befits any tournament looking to crown a world champion, the matches are much longer than in regular competitions. There’s a set format, with players having to win sets based on the best of five legs. The number of sets for each match increases throughout the tournament, with the final being the best of 13.

One of the aspects that makes this tournament special is that international qualifiers take place to determine a number of entrants, while there are also spots available for women. These players are not necessarily highly ranked, but the organisers are looking make a true ‘world’ championship and grow the sport in different territories. The winner of the 2023 PDC World Championship will take home £500,000 from a total prize fund of £2.5m. World Championship Darts betting is a huge event with darts bookmakers, who have lots of specials and promotions available at the time, centred around the tournament.

Premier League Darts Betting

Premier League Darts was launched in 2005 and has become a major event. What marks it out as being different to other big tournaments is that it’s played over a few months, with a weekly league stage that starts in February and then a play-off final in May/June. This format means that there is a big night of darts with the world’s best players going up against each other, for several weeks. The Premier League moves around different venues each week, playing at sold out arenas across the UK and Europe, with raucous atmospheres creating a great television spectacle.

In the most recent event in 2022, there were eight players, who played a mini-tournament featuring four quarter-finals, two semis and a final each week, earning points on a league table. Over the years, there have been different formats used, with differing numbers of players, though normally its eight. The top four in the Order of Merit get automatic spots, with the other four chosen by the PDC, based on rankings and tournaments won over the previous year. Because it’s an invitational tournament, not open to all, any monies won do no go towards world rankings.

Premier League Darts betting is popular with bookies and punters alike. Having so many top players, makes it very competitive, with different players coming out on top each week. Punters can take advantage of slumps and peaks in form over the weeks, while bookmakers are able to offer specials and advanced odds, knowing that the Premier League reaches a big television audience.

Grand Slam of Darts Betting

The Grand Slam of Darts is a ranking tournament held in November. This precursor to the World Championship is held in Wolverhampton and sees players qualify throughout the year by winning or finishing as runners-up in certain tournaments.

What makes this tournament stand out is that the 32 players are split up into eight groups of four, which are then played in a round robin format, with the top two players from each group advancing into the knockout stages. This makes Grand Slam of Darts betting interesting, as punters can gauge the form of players during the group stage. It also means that unlike many tournaments, a player can lose an early game and still go far in the tournament.

World Matchplay Darts Betting

The World Matchplay is considered to be one of the three most prestigious events, forming part of the PDC’s Triple Crown events, along with the World Championship and Premier League. Held in July each year, at the historic Winter Gardens in Blackpool, there is a lively atmosphere, with many fans attending as part of a holiday in the seaside resort.

The top 16 in the Order of Merit qualify as seeds and are joined by 16 unseeded qualifiers. A legs format is used, with first round matches being the first of 19 legs and the length of games gradually increasing until the final, which is the best of 35 legs. The long games make this a tough tournament to win. World Matchplay Darts betting is therefore normally skewed towards the elite players. Phil Taylor won this tournament 16 times and in 2018 the trophy for this event was renamed as The Phil Taylor Trophy.

Masters Darts Betting

After the World Champion in crowned in early January, the top 24 players in the Order of Merit are selected to compete in the Masters in Milton Keynes at the end of the month. The top eight start in the second round, with the other 16 competing in the first round to meet them. As it is invitational, this is another tournament, like the Premier League, were the prize money does not go towards world rankings.

The matches are relatively short, with the first round being the best of eleven legs and the final being the best of 21. There can therefore be surprises, which makes Masters Darts betting a fascinating content between punter and the darts bookies. Often, winning this tournament can result in a player confirming their place in the Premier League, as was the case for the 2021 winner Jonny Clayton and the 2022 champion Joe Cullen.

UK Open Darts Betting

Known as ‘The FA Cup of darts’ the UK Open allows amateur and professional players to compete against each other. Though the main tournament is played in March with 160 players, the amateur qualifiers start in January. Players outside of the PDC Tour compete at sports bars across the UK for 16 spots in the first round.

From the first round on to the final, there are nine rounds in total. PDC Tour players enter the tournament at different stages based on their rankings, with the top 32 going straight in at the fourth round. Played in March amidst a party atmosphere at the Butlins Minehead Resort, there is something about this tournament that sees the underdog shine, creating plenty of opportunities in the UK Open Darts betting. Many unheralded players have gone far in the UK Open and even reached the final on occasion, creating plenty of opportunities for punters at darts betting sites.

Our Top Darts Betting Tips

In this section we’re going to run through some darts betting tips. Following this advice will help your profitability when using darts betting sites.

Tip 1: Study Tournament Form

There can be a lot of differences in terms of the conditions at various tournaments. Small tournaments such as Players Championship events don’t feature a crowd and several games take place alongside each other, known as ‘floor games’. Some players do well in these conditions, while some struggle to motivate themselves and need a bigger stage. At the bigger tournaments, where there is often a large crowd, some players can struggle with the pressure, or the length of the matches. Then there are tournaments with their own quirks, such as the World Grand Prix, where players have to start with a double. Do your research to discover the players that excel at certain tournament.

Tip 2: Research Player Statistics

This takes us to the subject of the players statistics. As well as finding out what tournaments they do well in, take the time to learn about their strength and weaknesses. You might have a player that isn’t necessarily that successful, but hits a lot of 180s, while the reverse can be true. Darts is truly a numbers game and when you drill into those numbers, you will notice betting opportunities.

Tip 3: Respect The Format

Always make sure you know how long a game is likely to be. If you have a game which is the best of nine legs and a player only needs five legs to win, there is more likely to be an upset than in a game comprising of the best of 21 legs, for example. The longer the match format, the more likely that class will prevail. Going back to the previous point, some players can be slow starters, while others start fast and then fade. Knowing these traits and applying them to the length of the match, can reap dividends.

Summary

We hope you enjoyed our guide to darts betting sites. Darts is a sport that has grown at great pace since the launch of the PDC and is only likely to get bigger. Players from different nations are reaching the top echelons of the game, helping the sport to grow internationally.

That is great news for darts bookmakers. They already have a product that provides them with plenty of action that they can cover, especially in-play and often at times when there is not much other live sport taking place. The best online darts betting sites should continue to grow with the sport. For our money, 888Sport are leading the way with PDC darts betting coverage.
