The New England Patriots, the team to beat in the 2007-08 NFL football season.

With the deals they made in this offseason, the New England Patriots rank No.1 in this early NFL power rankings from this site. The Patriots were merely a minute away from the Super Bowl last year and coming to the brand new season, these guys want nothing less than a trip to Super Bowl XLII.

The Patriots will still have Tom Brady at QB but now, after a season of not knowing who he should throw the football to, hell be having Randy Moss. Yes, they got him away from the struggling Oakland Raiders.

Super Bowl XLI champions, Indianapolis Colts, are right there behind them at No.2. Sure, they lost running back Dominic Rhodes, but they still have the solid combination of Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison and that is STILL one of the best quarterback-receiver tandem in football. PLUS Reggie Wayne hasnt even started yet.

At No.3, we have the somewhat troubled franchise of the San Diego Chargers. Before the 2006-07 NFL Playoffs began, many thought the Chargers is the team to beat after the great season that they had. Then, they had to face to Patriots in their first game of the postseason and then WHAM, they lose and everything shifts back to reality.

Marty Schottenheimer wont return to the Chargers sideline in the coming season but with reigning NFL MVP LaDanian Tomlinson coming back, the Chargers should still be one of the early contenders.

At No.4 we have the defensive minded Baltimore Ravens. Defense has been the cornerstone of Baltimore football for years and coming to the brand new 2007-08 NFL Season, theyre adding something new to their style of football.

RUNNING.

Yep, the Ravens signed former Buffalo Bills running back Willis McGahee and if he stays healthy for a change, McGahee will form one dominating running tandem with Jamal Lewis.
